Please help stop the Poaching of African Elephants!!!

In between the years of 1979 and 1989, African Elephants were hunted and killed to dangerously low levels for ivory.  Poachers then cut the African Elephants population numbers down by at least 50%.  
In the year of 1977 1.3 million elephants lived in Africa; by 1997, only 600,000 remained.

Even though it's illegal to kill the Elephants in Africa these days, people still continue to kill them.  These beautiful creatures are important to this planet and it would be a nightmare to see them die out!
