Immigration Reform, Let's Take America Back!

I work for the Division of Welfare and Supportive Services in my state and am concerned at how easily undocumented aliens come have children and basically make a living off of the state. Particularly, I was working a case recently where an undocumented woman has three children, all born almost consecutively with the same last name that was not her last name and she claimed the father of the children was not in the household with her. Previously this woman reported the father to be in the household, but soon found out that the income he made doing "odd jobs" would decrease the amount of cash assistance and food stamps granted for the American born children. This brings up two concerns, that I see very often with undocumented aliens who have children. The first is that they so easily have children that are considered Americans because they were born on American soil. The second is that, because the children are considered Americans the state supports them with cash assistance and food stamps until they are eighteen. Meanwhile, seniors who are United States citizens are often denied benefits or are granted the minimum benefit while living on a fixed and low monthly income. Another issue of concern is that undocumented children are allowed to attend public schools. Our education system, which is often frowned upon, would be greater and have more funds and resources available if tax payers were not paying the cost to support illegal children. It is so easy for illegal aliens to come and make a living after having children, meanwhile robbing benefits to those American citizens who deserve them. Something needs to be done about this.
