Pass the California Climate Bills!

  • by: Chris Wolverton
  • recipient: California Governor Jerry Brown, California State Assembly

The California Senate recently passed a series of bills meant to combat climate change. Proposed legislation changes include reducing gasoline used in transportation by 50 percent, increasing energy efficiency by 50 percent, and using renewable sources like solar and wind to fuel electricity.

California has long been a leader in addressing climate change in the United States, and this package of bills would propel them even farther forward, setting a great example for the rest of the country. California in particular is especially vulnerable to the effects of climate change. Presently, the state is in a drought that is damaging its agricultural output and compromising water availability for citizens.

Supporting climate bills will reduce these risks and create jobs in renewable energy fields. Please sign the petition to urge California to pass these climate bills!
