Help Needed to Save More Than 4,000 Monkeys

Bioculture Puerto Rico, Inc. plans to capture more than 4,000 monkeys, ship them off to P.R. where they'll be confined in cages & forced to breed, their offspring will be torn away & shipped to labs to be used in cruel, painful experiments.

Senators in Puerto Rico have introduced an important resolution that would strongly urge U.S. government agencies to permanently deny Bioculture Puerto Rico, Inc., permission to import and breed monkeys at a horrendous facility that's under construction in Guayama, Puerto Rico.

If given permission by the U.S. government, the company will confine more than 4,000 monkeys (who have been torn away from their homes and families in the wild) at its new location, force them to breed, and sell their offspring to U.S. and foreign laboratories, where they will be imprisoned, poisoned, mutilated, and killed in experiments. U.S. and Puerto Rican government officials as well as a judge have found that Bioculture has repeatedly violated the law during the construction of its facility in Puerto Rico.

Resolution 1514 could help stop the Bioculture project. It currently has bipartisan support from a coalition of at least 10 cosponsors, including Senate President Tomas Rivera-Schatz, but we need your help to ensure that this resolution is approved.
Please help monkeys right now by sending polite e-mails to key Puerto Rico Senators and politely ask that they support R.S. 1514 and keep this shameful and corrupt company from establishing itself in Puerto Rico.

We the undersigned, are  shocked to learn that despite its repeated violations of Puerto Rican and U.S. laws, Bioculture Puerto Rico, Inc., continues to build a massive monkey-breeding facility in Guayama, Puerto Rico, that will imprison more than 4,000 wild-caught monkeys and sell their babies to U.S. and foreign laboratories, where they will be poisoned, mutilated, tortured and killed.

Bioculture is a shameful and corrupt company that abuses animals for money and that has, according to the Puerto Rican Senate Environment Committee, shown a "defiant and disrespectful attitude to the law."

I beg you to support R.S. 1514, which would send a clear message to U.S. regulatory agencies that Bioculture should not be allowed to proceed in light of the company's record of disregard for Puerto Rican and U.S. laws.

Please Support R.S. 1514 and Oppose Bioculture Puerto Rico, Inc. We count on your support to put an end to this barbaric and inhumane "science research".
