We are writing this petition to share our disagreement with how Archbishop Nauman, President Shelly Buhler and the Hayden Board of Trustees have mismanaged the 3.5 million dollar plus proposed gift.
The gift was rejected without full transparency to the board or any negotiation tactic. To this day there has been no communication with the donors to try to work on an agreement that would be beneficial to the school.
The original intent of the donors was to create excitement and provide needed facilities and improvements at HHS to move the school forward. The gift included a much needed auxilliary building/gym to alleviate scheduling conflicts and provide a stage for the fine arts department. The gift would also fund a technology/business center to advance the students academic needs. Additional funds raised would allocated towards any maintenance or improvements based off the strategic plan.
Due to the lack of leadership with regards to the unprecidented gift, we are petitioning for a town hall meeting with the entire board of trustees. So that the concerns of the Hayden community can finally be heard.
