In January, the Washington Post began a partnership with a corporate right blog that promotes climate change denial. In February they published an anti-climate action rant by a Republican strategist. These follow dozens of other examples of the Washington Post giving space to climate change deniers, in a disturbing trend of a media outlet actively ignoring the facts.
We want our media outlets to be honest, factual watchdogs. And we simply cannot trust an outlet that chooses to give space to individuals who are touting false pseudo-science that has been debunked by the vast majority of reputable scientists. As Neil DeGrasse Tyson said: "...The good thing about science is that it's true whether or not you believe in it." And we expect our newspapers to print the truth.
There is no debate. The facts, backed up by science, are that climate change is real and we need to take action. Other news outlets have stepped forward to make sure they are only printing the truth about climate change.
