Sign on to the Resolution Requesting a Postponement of Department Reorganization at CCSF

The following Resolution will be delivered to the Academic Senate for recommendation on October 7, 2015. Your signature here will help to demonstrate the unity of the departments faculty and classified staff who are opposed to the proposed immediate election of a Department Chair of the combined/reorganized departments. See Resolution details:

Whereas, the process of reorganizing departments has never been established by the administration; and

Whereas, the data used to determine the outcomes of reorganizing departments has never been presented by the administration; and

Whereas, placing ballot boxes for an election of a Department Chair for departments under reorganization is not a first-step in any process, but rather detrimental to the process of the creation of a unified grouping of departments who put student success first; and

Whereas, the college continues to employ interim administrators in a number of positions including the Chancellor; be it

Resolved, that the Academic Senate recommend the postponement of any department reorganization until such time that the Restoration status period has been completed and a stabilization of the administration has occurred.

The following Resolution will be brought forth to the Academic Senate Executive Council for recommendation at the October 7, 2015 meeting to inform the Chancellor that we are opposed to a quick and ill-planned reorganization of our departments that begins with an election of a new Department Chair.  This is completely backwards and will lead to certain chaos as we work diligently to meet Accreditation Standards.  Resolution:
