Save Dave the waving lollipop man on Two Ball Lonnen in Fenham, Newcastle Upon Tyne

Dave, the waving lollipop man on Two Ball Lonnen, in Fenham, has been told he's no longer needed.

At 71 years young he was called into a emergency meeting, only to be informed he would be losing his job. It's a crying shame as he clearly loves his job. His daughter says he loves his job! It gives him a real purpose and he brightens most people's morning when they drive past him, not to mention the kids who love him and the safety he provides.

If someone is killed on this busy road after they cut this safety role, the Council should be held accountable.

It's sad. We all remember making our Mums walk the long way to school just to walk over the road with the lollipop man.... Well, Newcastle City Council reckons kids are just going to have to STOP, LOOK and LISTEN.

LET'S TRY TO CHANGE THE COUNCILS DECISION.

Please sign this petition to save the Fenham lollipop man's job! If enough people sign, the Council will see that the community needs him to keep their children safe.

Just a quick update.

On October 14th I sent an interim report of over 5000 signatures by email to the director of Newcastle City Council, The Evening Chronicle and to ITV.

We now have over 6000 signatures with 15 days left on this petition.

I am awaiting a reply from the Evening Chronicle.

Thank you everyone for your support. Please keep sharing and signing. I will send another email to the Council on the 31st October with any signatures received since the 14th.
