Send Love to Labrador Retriever with Gunshot and Stab Wounds Discovered in Texas

On Sunday, March 30, an urgent plea was issued for a grievously wounded Labrador retriever

who was at the Fort Worth Animal Control in Texas.

The dog, dubbed "Whiskey," was taken to the facility after being found by a good Samaritan.

Unfortunately, Whiskey's wounds, which include multiple gunshots and probably stab injuries,

were beyond the capability of the animal control facility and he needed to be pulled

by a rescue agency as soon as possible.

A supporter of the rescue organization, Big Dog Rescue Project, heard of Whiskey's plight,

and arrangements were quickly made to rush the wounded dog to an emergency veterinarian.

By Sunday afternoon, Whiskey was in the care of veterinary professionals

at the Animal Emergency Hospital of North Texas - they determined

that he had probable stab wounds, and four to five gunshot wounds which had collapsed

one of his lungs, lacerated his tongue and wounded his paw.

Despite the severity of the injuries, the veterinary team is hopeful that Whiskey can recover.

The young dog is a survivor - he has managed to escape his abusive past, beat the odds

at the Texas kill facility and today, he is receiving the care necessary for him to recuperate.

Anyone who would like to make a contribution for Whiskey's veterinary expenses

can do so through his YouCaring Fund, or to the veterinary hospital, here.

May Whiskey be blessed and recover soon.
