All restaurants to provide a safe clean environment for breastfeeding

As a breastfeeding mother I have been absolutely appalled at the lack of feeding stations in various locations across the UK. For example - the only place that is available for a 'private feed' is in the baby changing area which 9 times out of 10 is located within a disabled toilet, it's bad enough that you have to use a toilet cubical for obvious hygiene reasons but also having to go out of your way to ask a member of staff for something simple like a chair to sit on rather than a toilet seat, this day in age it shouldn't be a problem right!? WRONG! Breastfeeding rates in the UK are amongst the lowest worldwide and it's not surprising when new mothers are faced with having to take their new vulnerable baby into such a place. Yeh you can feed openly wherever you are but with a public debate on do I cover up?, do I not?, what's appropriate?, is it too hot to cover my child with a blanket? And of course if YOU feel confident enough to feed in public. How can we solve this issue? It's so simple..... Just pop a chair in a clean area weather that is a disabled toilet or not. Word of mouth travels far and with a breastfeeding community growing with the help of social media and local mummy groups this change could make a difference to our lives and also to local businesses.
