Help save the last 50 Maui Dolphins before it's too late.

There are now only 43-47 left of these dolphins and we NEED to take urgent action to help these animals recover. Without any help, these dolphins are predicted to be extinct within 15 years or less. These critically endangered dolphins live on the west coast of New Zealand's North Island where their numbers are falling. Over half of the people I have talked to have never heard about these dolphins and I want to take this opportunity to get the word out. Without our help these dolphins will be nothing but a memory in a matter of years, I'm trying to do everything in my power to give them the chance they deserve.

The New Zealand government currently have rules and regulations in place but they are not enough, especially for a species so rare. Green Peace have come up with a petition which is trying to "extend the dolphins marine mammal sanctuary refuge to cover the full habitat range, ban net fishing, seabed mining, petroleum exploration and drilling from within the sanctuary, and ban seismic testing from within 20 nautical miles of the sanctuary's boundary. You can visit this link on the Petition page to take part in the petition to bring these regulations into place and give the dolphins a chance to increase their numbers again as well as a petition to stop deep sea drilling that is inside the Maui dolphin's habitat.

I have promised myself to do anything and everything I possibly can to help these dolphins and I will not give up. This petition could seriously help our Prime Minister John Key in realizing what we have before it's gone, not after.
