Support San Francisco's Plan to Incentivize Affordable Housing!

As a San Francisco resident, I know all too well how ridiculously unaffordable housing has become for people like me in this city. I love my apartment, but as rents continue to rise with no end in sight, lately I've had to consider leaving the city to find a more affordable place.

But a new proposal set forth by SF supervisor Eric Mar, and my supervisor, Aaron Peskin, could finally bring some relief. The proposal would lift height and density restrictions on new housing, allowing developers to build two extra floors of apartments if they are willing to make 100% of the new units affordable housing.

Please sign my petition to urge the San Francisco Board of Supervisors to vote YES on the proposal to incentivize affordable housing!

San Francisco has been building new housing way too slowly to keep up with demand. This proposal would both create new units and ensure the new housing isn't beyond the realm of affordability for the average San Franciscan.

This proposal could also help in part to alleviate the city's homelessness problem, which only continues to worsen as rents climb.

SF has identified 240 sites that are underdeveloped and new housing could be built, including a parking lot along the Embarcadero and a corner lot at Fell St. and Masonic.

The legislation will go to the Planning Commission and won’t be up for a vote for several months, so we have plenty of time to agitate on this issue and convince the city to vote yes. Please sign my petition to support this proposal!
Board of Supervisors,

Please vote YES on Supervisors Aaron Peskin and Eric Mar's proposal to lift height and density restrictions on new housing in San Francisco, allowing developers to build two extra floors of apartments if they are willing to make 100% of the new units affordable housing.

San Francisco needs to incentivize affordable housing by passing this proposal. The city has been building new housing way too slowly to keep up with demand. This proposal would both create new units and ensure the new housing isn't beyond the realm of affordability for the average San Franciscan.

This proposal could also help in part to alleviate the city's homelessness problem, which only continues to worsen as rents climb.

We also hope you will continue to explore building on the 240 sites the city identified that are underdeveloped where new housing could be built, including a parking lot along the Embarcadero and a corner lot at Fell St. and Masonic.

Please vote YES on this proposal. Thank you.
