A 6-months moratorium on new building applications for the ENTIRE Village of Southampton

We are rapidly losing our lovely little streets, our charming neighborhoods to over-development.  We will lose our entire Village if we do not act now to take a pause and stop the wrecking balls for a six-months moratorium on new building applications for the entire Village of Southampton.

We are concerned, as residents committed to the character of our Village, not only with the height of the new constructions, but with their enormous mass.  Those are the views we expressed in our last Village Comprehensive Plan, which a zoning ordinance is meant to implement.  The current zoning is in violation of those views expressed by residents in the Comprehensive Plan, and it is contrary to the wishes and concerns of Village residents today.

We are asking for a six-months moratorium for the ENTIRE Village, not for a small part of it, because all of our neighborhoods are affected:  Halsey Street, Burnett Street, Woolley Street, the Rosko Place subdivision south of Hill Street, our treasured hisoric district.  The time to act is now.
