Sir Paul, play last concert at Candlestick Park

Let it be known that the undersigned want Sir Paul McCartney to play a final concert at Candlestick Park, and we offer this petition as testmony to that request. Candlestick Park is an iconic testiment to the people and beauty which is 'San Francisco. Many great events have been held there, and friends of the “Stick” have attended events in the rain, in the fog, in frigid tempetures without regard for their comfort, a testament to the resilence and dedication of fans of every stripe. It is fitting that there be one final concert in celebration of both the fans, and this incredible venue. We petition the City of San Francisco to dedicate one final concert, and Sir Paul McCartney to headline it. We understand that there are negotiations with the San Francisco 49’ers about performing at their opening game at the new Santa Clara Stadium in 2015. That would be fine, but kindly remember than not all fans of the “Stick” are season ticket holders with the Forty Niners, and not all Candlestick Park fans are football lovers. What we are asking for is the honor of Sir Paul's presence as we honor the stadium which gave us so much pleasure over the years.

Update #110 years ago
My thanks for taking the time to sign the petition. From the SF Gate... "Paul McCartney is coming back to San Francisco for a send-off concert at Candlestick Park - the last scheduled event ever at the 54-year-old stadium.

The former Beatle said Thursday that he'll play the final show at the Stick on Aug. 14, ending a back-and-forth drama that had the city competing against the 49ers for the right to play host to the music legend."
