Over the past years, our environment has faced one significant challenge: pollution caused by fossil fuels. And as time passes, this issue only grows bigger and bigger, with no chance of getting closer to a reliable solution. Burning fossil fuels releases harmful pollutants into the air, water, and soil, leading to severe health consequences for our communities and damaging our ecosystems. In order to address this problem, we made an effort to launch this petition calling on the mayor of Waukegan to take action. Our goal is to increase the number of electrical charging stations in the city and incorporate them more than gas stations, which contribute to air pollution and climate change. By promoting the use of electric vehicles, we can reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and protect our planet for future generations. As of right now, there are only 12 public charging stations, and we hope to increase that number to a total of 50 or more. We urge the mayer of Waukegan to prioritize the installation of electrical charging stations and to make it easier for residents to switch to electric vehicles. Together, we can create a cleaner and healthier environment for all.
