Students need more sleep! Start school later!

High school is one of the most stressful times in a teens life. They need to wake up early and don't get to sleep till late at night. Students are forced to get to school at 7:42am but it's been scientifically proven that the human brain isn't fully functioning until much later in the morning. In order to make it to school on time, children have to get up about an hour in advance which in most cases is 6:00am but it's also been proven that for a child of this age to get up at that time is hard on the brain. It is practically like waking up in the middle of the night. This gives students a very non motivated morning because they don't have the energy to get up. You know why? Because teachers give piles on piles of homework that has very strict guidelines and most students this age also have a job. They must find a place to sqeeze in homework. That time is when we should be sleeping! We need to push the start time of school to at least 9:30 and have it be only 4 days a week for more time to recover and catch up on responsibilities. My goal is to actually get this in action. I'd like to see the effects take place within the next year or so. My connection to this cause is myself and my peers that I've discussed this with
