BAN THE USE OF ETHOXYQUIN IN DOG FOOD

Ethoxyquin was originally developed for use as an herbicide and stabilizing ingredient in rubber production. It is used in most commercial pet foods as a preservative. It is considered by many veterinarians to be a primary cause of:

a) kidney damage

b) liver damage

c) cancerous skin lesions

d) loss of hair

e) blindness

f) leukemia

g) spleen and stomach cancer

h) immune deficiency syndrome

i) liver cancer

j) chronic diarrhea

The rise in animal cancer in the past 25 years corresponds to the increase in chemical preservatives in commercial pet foods during this same time period. Please ban this preservative from pet food in the United States.
