Help drive down the rising costs of gasoline prices

Support the United States Effort to Drill for More Oil in our Country Especially in Alaska

Target:
US citizens
Sponsored by:
Gasoline prices are controlled by the Middle East. The United States has plenty of oil underground, but PETA and other organizations have continued to stop our Government from allowing the oil companies from tapping these resources. PETA claims that the oil companies destroy the environment. That is a blatant lie. The oil companies have supported environmental efforts for years. There is virtually little or no damage after the oil has been harvested. If we want to truely get out from under the high gasoline prices, we need to start drilling in our own country. We have the resources and we have the knowledge. Don't let PETA continue to help drive up the cost of gasoline by preventing the US from drilling in Alaska.

So true. This environmental extreme-ism has got to be stopped. I'm all for preservation, but not at the expense of humans!

I'm all for preserving our environment, but at $4/gallon this is a no-brainer... it's time to act now!

Don't anyone believe the bullcrap that we are being handed about it taking 10 yrs. to get oil if we started drilling now. I work for a major oil company and I guarantee you that we would start seeing oil within 5 yrs. and probably closer to 3 yrs. From the time we wanted to put a man on the moon in 1961 till we accomplished that feat was only 8 yrs. Are you telling me that we can't drill for oil and get it flowing within 10 yrs. Bullcrap!!@!!!!!

wouldn't mind paying $4.00 a gallon if it meant national security.

I think that it's about time that poeple get smart and let our oil companies start drilling in our own country, instead of letting our politicians run our country.

We Americans have had enough! Our government needs to start listening to US - not the environmental lobbyists! We run this country, but it looks like our senators and congressmen let the lobbyist run this country. WE NEED TO TAKE BACK WHAT IS RIGHTFULLY OURS!

I read recently on MSN financial news report that a very large oil deposit was discovered in the Dakotas in the 90's, more oil than was in the Far East. The just needed funding to help in exploration and bringing the oil up to the surface because the ground was a hard shale. Some investigation and funding should be done to enable us to tap that source. Another article I read said that there is oil underground just about every state in the Union. Why aren't we tapping into them? If oil is a fossil fuel as claimed, there were plenty on this side of the world too. Fossils are the remains of any living creatures. Look at all the animals and yes, humans who have lived and died over the centuries in this country. They are all fossils.

As a matter of national security, we should drill off of our shores, in Alaska and also in Montana and South Dakota. It has been revealed recently that Montana and South Dakota have as much oil as the Saudi's and have permission from land owners to drill but not permission from our senators in Washington. Would we as Americans like to have China, Russia, Venezuala and Cuba join in drilling off our shores and not Americans. Will we be controlled by the rest of the world? They are drilling as we speak. The oil that is available in Montana is available now because it has refineries in place, it will not take 10 years to bring it to the pumps. What would happen to America if any oil supply from the east was cut off?

It is time for the US to solve our own oil problems. We should be drilling everywhere there is indications of oil. Especially in the tar sands of the west, off shore the east coast and off shore in the gulf including Florida.

Why make others nations richer by the day including OPEC. Why not let our own US citizens gain some royalties by allowing oil companies drill here in land and off shore. Once we get the price back down OPEC will feel the pain and seek to sell us oil again that is within reason. Why should OPEC tell us that $200 a barrel is what the cost should be and besides if they don't care for the US then why on Gods green earth do we still accept the fact that OPEC wants oil to reach $200 a barrel what the heck is up with that? Why not allow drilling and development here in our own country. Oil companies all like to protect the environment, they like to hunt, fish and outdoor activities. You would that think that PETA and others would see that shipping oil from over seas cause harm from spills and the fact that those ship use major amounts of fuel to get here and send a great deal of green house gases into the air. Folks talk about trucks and SUV's but what about those ships? You know those ships get great fuel mileage and burn clean fuels like fuel oils and low grade diesel. So say keep it in house so why not keep our money in house and who know the dollar may make a come back.

I am surrounded by oilfields, none of which are currently producing, or even being redeveloped, except for housing additions. The oil is there, the excuses invalid. There are relatively few constraints in regards to redevelopment of existing fields.

We need to tap into our own oil, instead of importing Middle Eastern oil. Who can afford these gas prices? I am a full time student, enrolled in a 4yr. course, but am doing it within 14 months. I don't have the time to work and study too, and I can't get unemployment. I refuse to go on Welfare. So...where does that leave me, let alone others??? BROKE!!!

Thank you for signing this #s 11 and 12,lol. Why should we depend on foreign oil when we have it right here? why should our military personel die for oil?? what alternative transportation do we look for when we work MILES from home and no trains or buses with which to get there??

THIS IS THE MOST RIDICULOUS PETITION I'VE EVER SEEN - THOSE WHO SIGNED ALREADY REALLY NEED TO GET A LIFE. HAVE YOU EVER CONSIDERED FINDING ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION? MOST PEOPLE IN OTHER COUNTRIES DO SO, BUT AMERICANS, IN GENERAL, ARE SO SELF-CENTERED AND SELF-RIGHTEOUS, THEY "MUST" HAVE THEIR CARS AND GASOLINE AT THE COST OF THE ENVIRONMENT. SPOILED WHINY BRATS!

the gas prices are outragous! I am learning to drive now. Yet with the way gas prices keep on rising it may not matter to have my license or not! I won't have the money to fuel my own car! We need to fight against this so that the prices don't keep rising and the people of the future won't be paying 10 dollars for a gallon!
