Khaatumo State of Somalia is the Sool Sanaag Cayn (SSC) regions of Somalia. The people from these regions are also called the 'Khaatumo People'. Khaatumo State has its own local adminstration and government that has been elected through a system of unanimous voting by all the elders of the region and the people of khaatumo.
The people of Khaatumo want peace, development and progress for their home (SSC). Most importantly the Khaatumo Government and Khaatumo People support the international community's mission of united federal Somalia.
The history of the Khaatumo people is entrenched in the Somali history books internationally as the Dervishes. Today the regions of Sool Sanaag and Cayn remain the least developed and uncared regions of Somalia especially as the region receives no direct support and recognition from the international community.
Khaatumo people call for the international community, the African Union and all people of humanity to recognize Khaatumo State of Somalia. Khaatumo is not only a region, but people and ethnicity and identity that cannot be ignored nor will remain silent and unnoticed by the international community.
We would like to highlight to the UN, AU, IGAD, EU and their entire member states that for the last 23 years Khaatumo regions have been isolated by the international community. It is time for the international community to recognize KHAATUMO STATE OF SOMALIA the home of the KHAATUMO PEOPLE.
