Change The Location Of My Local 'Race For Life'

The current location of my local 'Race For Life' is unsuitable for wheelchair users, as a wheelchair user, I find this very discriminating and offensive towards wheelchair users.

I did this race for 3yrs on the trot before coming disabled, helping to raise money, in the memory of my nan, for such a worthy cause. I didnt know back then that wheelchairs were a problem. When I went to sign up and read that I couldnt because of wheelchair, I rang them to complain. I even asked if I could take part at my own risk. They said 'no' but I could volunteer to help at the event if I wanted. Surely if the location is unsuitable for wheelchairs to take part, then surely its unsuitable to even volunteer. Besides, I dont want to volunteer, I want to take part, take action. I then wrote an email complaining, heard nothing.

One year they held this event on an airfield, which I think was suitable for wheelchairs, if I remember correctly. We have lots of races held in Lincoln and they shut the roads off for these races, so why not 'Race For Life'. The roads are only shut for the duration of the race and they are not the main roads in the middle of the city centre itself, they are uphill.

So PLEASE, help me to get this changed. Help me and many others like me, to be able to take part.
