At least 20 emaciated horses were discovered on a 3-acre property in Davie, Florida. Police were alerted so that the animals could be rescued, which took several days. Authorities were shocked at the conditions of the horses say that it appeared many of them were never even touched. They were living in about a foot and a half of manure and urine. The ages of the horses ranged from 3 months to 12 years, all without any water or food, including no hay or grain. This irresponsible owner of the property was breeding the horses but couldn’t afford to feed them!
Currently, all the horses are being evaluated by a veterinarian to determine their condition. Rescuers are working hard around the clock to bathe and groom the emaciated, neglected animals. There was difficulty in reaching the owner for comments and officials were not sure about the type of charges the individual would face. Police Captain Dale Engle of the Davie police department said they will determine what charges to inflict on this irresponsible animal owner once all the horses are evaluated. Really? All the horses found were skin and bones, residing in their own excrements, with no visible signs of water or anything to eat; not even grass or hay! Yet the Davie, Florida law enforcement department is questioning if this person should be charged?

Davies, Florida Law Enforcement and Judicial System – If you do not pursue charges against this person responsible for the neglect and malnutrition of these poor, emaciated horses, the abuse and cruelty of animals will never, ever stop! Animals rely on humans for their care and well-being! It is evident the animals were not fed and had to live in their own excrement!! Please ensure that the owner is prosecuted to the full extent of the law for animal abuse, cruelty and neglect; also restrain him from ever touching or owning another animal, ever!!
