KEEP LA CRESCENTA SAFE

  • by: Sherri Mudd

There is a proposal for a 47 unit condo complex with 9,500 square feet of mixed use space to be built at 3037 and 3045 Foothill Blvd. This is more units with less parking spaces than allowed by the Community Design Standards. Public safety is at significant risk with increased traffic and parking on Foothill Blvd , very limited access for residents and emergency vehicles with only one driveway and high density occupancy for large 2 and 3 bedroom units.
A traffic study and environmental impact study have NOT been completed.
Other factors that will have a detrimental effect to our quality of living in the Crescenta Valley include:

-increased student enrollment in local schools

-obliteration of the mountain view

-another project in our community with no intent to promote Community Design Standards or beautify Foothill Blvd.

-more unnecessary (and possiblity more empty) commercial space

-increased water needs

WE THE UNDERSIGNED REQUEST THAT A TRAFFIC STUDY, ENVIRONMENTAL STUDY AND FURTHER INVESTIGATION BE COMPLETED BEFORE THE PROJECT MOVES FORWARD. WE ALSO REQUEST THAT THE CRESCENTA VALLEY TOWN COUNCIL'S LAND USE COMMITTEE CONSIDER NO WAIVERS THAT DEVIATE FROM THE COMMUNITY DESIGN STANDARDS.

Dear Community Members,

Please help obtain signatures on this important petition.  I hope you will join me at the CV Town Council meeting at 7 pm on Thursday, September 15th at the La Crescenta Library Community Room when the signed petitions will be delivered.  Thanks in advance for your concern about our community.
