John Miller survived a hit and run accident nearly 7 years ago. After undergoing multiple surgeries John seemed stable but was not able to work. On April 4, 2015 at the age of 35 while watching t.v. in the house John passed away from what was later determined to be a blood clot that traveled to his heart. John was the only child of Nina and Frank Miller.
Frank owns his car. However, he would always lease a new car for his wife. He also leased a new car for his son because he was not able to work. Nina's lease had just ended in March so they took a new lease for a 2015 Hyundai Sonata, two weeks before John died.
After the funeral Nina and Frank decided they didn't need three cars. This is a portion of a letter I wrote to Hyundai Motor Finance . . . ."John's lease was not up yet so Nina gave the car back to you. The car was returned in pristine condition with super low mileage; only a couple thousand miles. Shortly thereafter Nina was hit with a bill from your company of $4,500!"
"I understand business. However, sadly in our world the almighty dollar comes before humanness of any kind. She lost her ONLY CHILD unexpectedly. She paid a big fat funeral bill. And now you beat my friend down with a $4,500 bill????? Talk about low blows. This is despicable. Nina was not able to pay your bill in full so she is making monthly payments. For what? For nothing! No car! Only a heartwrenching monthly reminder of her only child's death. Myself and all of Nina's friends LOVE her new Hyundai Sonata. I love my Kia Optima but it's getting older and I will have to replace it. Unless my dear friend gets some well deserved satisfaction from my complaint I will boycott Hyundai and go online with my story as well. What do I feel you should do? Drop this bill and offer condolences to Nina."
Hyundai Motor Finance telephoned me regarding my letter to say there is nothing they can do. Not so. Therefore I am asking all of you to decide who is right and who is wrong. Thank you for reading.
