Oppose rezoning of Neighborhood Preservation District and the Exceptional Foundation expansion

Expansion of the Exceptional Foundation requires the rezoning of Homewood's Neighborhood Preservation District.  This decision creates a precedent for areas in this district to not be preserved.  All neighborhood residents of Homewood should sign.

Residents of Homewood and Homewood Planning Commission,

The following undersigned individuals are writing in support of the Neighborhood Preservation District.  We believe that in rezoning the NPD you will set a precedent for more destruction of what has ben designated to be preserved.

We object to the descision for the following reasons:

1. The council did not approve to rezone the property directly across the street from the EF to commercial.

2.  We are a neighborhood preservation district and we want a neighborhood of homes; not buildings.

3.  A recent traffic study was completed to show that the busiest stretch of road on Oxmoor Road was between the intersections of Central Ave and Broadway.

4. The traffic will increase once the Community Center opens.

5.  Within the last three years, there has been three new homes constructed that were not previously standing on Oxmoor. The traffic will increase due to the increasing number of residents between the 1500 and 1600 block of Oxmoor Road.

6.  Residents who reside on Oxmoor have a awful time trying to enter and exit from their properties. This will make it more difficult.

Thank you for your time,

Concerned Residents of Homewood Neighborhoods
