Attention for Cashmere trade.

The Cashmere trade is an extremely cruel industry for Goats.
Although many brands now are switching to alternative cruelty free products, such as Cashmink or Cashmilon.
Many brands are still in favour of the mistreatment of Goats all for their fur.

But just how serious are the affects?
Many Cashmere Goat farms are based in rural China and Mongolia, these countries dominate the industry.
Cashmere wool is taken from the soft underbellies of Cashmere Goats and is considered a 'luxury' material however, the stress it causes the animals doesn't justify the value of it.

Goats do suffer. On Cashmere farms Goats become extremely stressed, many are living in filthy and crowded conditions.
Many Goats are dehorned and aren't given any pain relief. The sheering of the wool stresses the animals as their natural instinct to run away from danger.
In winter seasons they vulnerable to cold temperatures and often become prone to illness or freeze.

PETA UK have various articles to persuade people to have compassion rather than cashmere to stop contributions to the industry. https://www.peta.org.uk/blog/watch-sensitive-goats-cry-fear-shorn-cashmere/

I believe taking more action by furthering the idea of 'compassion' is extremely important.
There are plant based alternatives to cashmere (Cashmink, Cashmilon) which in production could replace Cashmere, thus keeping people in factories in the work place.

Many high street brands such as: Marks and Spencers, Gap and Mango sell products made from Cashmere.

By signing this petition the cashmere products could be reduced in production within these brands. Saving Goats lives and freeing them of stress.
