Cell Phone Policy Updated

Pascagoula-Gautier school district is one of the only school districts on the Gulf Coast that DO NOT allow the students to carry their cell phones with them to school.. Its time for an upgrade on this policy. There are way too many school shootings happening, bullying is rampant, plus there is sex trafficking all around us and sex offenders live all around the schools.. alot of our children have after school commitments and have to walk home or exercise in these neighborhoods and they need their phones in case something happens. Please help me get this policy changed to LET the children carry their phones with them. Have them put the phone in their bags on AIRPLANE mode and not bring it out until teachers say they can or after school...911's happen so often. They need to feel safe. And having that line to their parents or actual 911 helps them feel safer..Thank you for your time and signatures
