Northwest Christian High School is lacking the proper materials necessary to ensure their students are well informed about the college application process and standardized tests. As a school that strives for success, a guidance counselor is essential for the growth of its' students education and well being. A recent study found, "High school counselors influenced their students' future plans by encouraging them to have high expectations. A high proportion of 10th and 12th grade students who were surveyed perceived that their counselor expected them to attend college, regardless of their racial background. High school students' own educational expectations for themselves increased over time." This goes to prove that a certified high school guidance counselor is necessary for student success.
