Stop Squirrels Eating Garbage

Constantly, there are instances where there are squirrels rummaging through garbage cans and eating anything they find. As well as picking up garbage off the the ground and eating it. For example I've seen them eat wrappers and paper plates. I considered the fact that they may want to use the paper or wrappers for a nest, but with the paper plate insudent that may not have been the case. This squirrel was just sitting there and eating it.
We need to put an end this, or at least diminish the squirrels capability of getting a hold of garbage like this. You can only imagine what it does to their little bodies when they eat stuff like paper and plastic. To be honest squirrels are not the only animals doing this either, so heres what I purpose.
Let's squirrel and animal proof garbage cans, and let's have more people picking up litter. That way it will help the enviorment, as well as better the lives of our neighborly animals. If it is not changed today, when will it be?
