Liberty Towers is looking to install a 150' monopole cell tower at 152 Hill Road. They have leased private property to do so. However, they are looking to change an ordinance that will allow to move the tower closer to residential property lines. There are nine other cell towers within the township, two of which host Sprint, which is the company championing this proposed cell tower on Monocacy Hill.
We need our Township residents to voice their concerns regarding the safety issues, as well as health, environmental, aesthetic, and financial impacts on those who live near this site.
Update! As of the last Zoning Hearing on January 18, 2010, Liberty Towers has decided to lower the height of the tower to 100' feet because they are sensing opposition and are trying to make it more possible to put this tower on Monocacy Hill. We still need to spread the word and hear all your voices.
Please sign this petition and/or contact the Amity Township Zoning Board. This petition will be presented at the February 15, 2010 Zoning Hearing to show that people do care!
Thank you.
We, the undersigned, wish to express our concerns toward the proposed cell phone tower to be located on Monocacy Hill at 152 Hill Road. This 150' monopole will loom 80' over the trees, emit potential harmful electromagnetic frequencies, and drive down our property values having a greater impact in these current economic times.
Modifying the current Township ordinance to move this tower closer to residential property lines gives those residents no choice in the location of this proposed tower. We want to ensure that all options have been considered for this site and that all health, environmental, financial, and aesthetic ramifications have been considered.
We appreciate your time in reading this petition and your consideration of our concerns in this matter.
Thank you.

I would like to thank everyone for signing this petition. I do not believe it is enough to help as the tower company has revised all its plans so that they no longer need a special variance from the township ordinance.
The tower is being lowered to 100' thus moving the tower to 100' from the south properties (Gunning & Petras properties) with the pad site being approximately 70' (or closer) to those property lines.
The zoning hearing will deliberate in public on Monday, March 15th at 7pm the Amity Township building on Weavertown Road in Dougassville, PA. At that time, the fate will be known.
Thank you again for the support. If you happen to know an attorney that can do pro-bono work for a few residents to prepare a possible appeal to a negative decision, please contact me via email at gunning@ptd.net.
Thank you.
