Please do not take the increase for the cost of living away from social security or other funds related to medicare for senior citizens. This will affect both of my parents. Senior Citizens need the encrease to maintain a reasonable living. I am not able to even have supplement insurance if i were to go in the hospital. I don't have enough money hardly to live now. Senior Citizens deserve better than that.

As voter, I feel that the parties in office at this time needs to be replaced. What is going on in this country with senior citizen is a disgrace. The seniors who have paid their debt to this country are not bring treated fairly. The medical care that is extended by the Federal government is Poor. And now they have taken our cost of living increase,but the people in office are receiving their benefits. I want to say in closing it nice that you can go to sleep at night knowing that your needs are being met. And the seniors in this country can't even afford in most cases to pay for their medical needs. We are speaking as seniors citizen in need of the cost of living increase to survive. I will remember these facts in all upcoming elections. I will speak out against all those officals who have chose to do nothing remedy this situation.

I gave 28 years of service to the Federal Gov't now it is time to be repaid. The majority of time I worked for the gov't it was below that being paid by defense contractors for the same work. Even 5% doesn't compensate for the $'s lost. Please reinstate the the approved COLA.

Oil surge past $80.00 a barrow.that's up 150% from the December low.2. Wholesale prices are up more than 40 cents a gallon in just under a month.3. Heating oil, it jumped to its highest price in almost a year. 4. Corn is up more than a dollar a bushel since September5. Chocolate futures just soared to its highest level in almost three years.6. Food store prices up 35% since Oct. 09. 7. The dollar losing value by the day.8. The price of cotton is the highest in 14 years. 9. Gas prices surged 7% in two weeks. I am on disability and I pay for Cobra since the loss of my husband's job at age 60. I need this increase yearly just to survive & help with the cost of Cobra for 29 months. I don't understand how Congress and the Senate can receive health benefits that are not only substantially better than most state and federal employees, but is drastically better than any social security recipient. Then, to top it off, adoption of not only their health benefits, but also income increases are voted on by the same body that is afforded these benefits and increases. Shouldn't the SSI and SSDI recipients be given the same control? Congress should reinstate the annual cost of living increases of 5% for 2010 and 2011. If a congressman/woman had to live on what we live on, they would never have voted it to be held to begin with. But then again, most of them are millionaires anyway.

The price of gas and the price of food has gone up and my husband is disabled due to a work injury that was not his fault. No cost of living increase hurts us because he is unable due to his injuries to get any outside work to make up the difference. This effects our young childern because my husband is not close to retirement age. Please Re-Instate the annual cost of living increase of 5%.

Lawmakers get a 4000 dollars a year raise and everything is going up, gas, food and other things, alot of seniors cant even live on what they get so why does everything go up but the cost of living for seniors.
