I am the owner of 2 beautiful pitbulls, 4 years old and 1 year old. My dogs have never bitten or attacked a living thing, including a cat that they live with and children that love them but yet police officers always threaten to shoot my dogs after realizing that they are of the pit bull breed. it's PREJUDICE and not right! I am a responsible and proud owner of pitbulls. I would never, ever give them up. Punish the deed, not the breed!

Pits are an amazing breed. They are loving, loyal and very sweet. I own a pit and I can't think of owning any other breed. She is smart, kind, and great with kids. Banning a breed is outrageous! It falls on how you raise them, not their type of breed. You should punish those who took advantage of such lovable dogs and mistreated them for their own pleasures!

Pitbulls are not agressive dangorous animals from nature. However, some people haven't got the knowledge or skills to handle these dogs.. and some even train them to become agressive. It is the owners who are the problem, not the dogs. Pitbulls can be as loving and loyal as any other dog..

Pitbulls which are ordinary pets shouldn't be banned! It's only the dangerous pitbulls which should be banned, not every pitbull just because of their breed.

Punish the deed, not the breed! If itīs seems necessary, inform those who are looking for a new dog that some breeds can be more demanding (more guard instinct, more energic etc) and ask them to chose breed with consideration. Inform the public, donīt ban breeds! And definetly donīt take innocent dogs from their loving owners! Inform the public, study the breed to get a correct scenario of the breed- donīt use rumors and propaganda as evidence! Pitbulls are not more dangerous than other dogs- with a good owner theyīre kind companions which doesnīt hurt a soul. With bad owners, they can be dangerous. But that is true for all breeds. Punish the deed, not the breed!

It is a well proven fact by many trials, that a pitbull is a safe dog to own, and it is a dog owner who is the one who trains the dog to be cruel.. If any dog is in a loving home, he/she will be a perfect pet. Twenty years ago, Dobermans and Rotweilers were considered vicious dogs and now they are a normal pet for many people.. Now idiots think pitbulls are vicious and the cycle is going on with them.. Enough is enough!! Ban cruel owners, not the dogs!!

I have a pit bull mix and a rottweiler mix and they are both the sweetest dogs...I think this is absurd way to handle the situation...and the individual dog and the competence of the owner are what should be evaluated...

It's always been true what they say band the breed not the deed. It's not the animal that should suffer for some idiots actions. They are not harmful they want love just as much as any of us do. Some ppl just have them for them to fight. THeir not bad animals.

The dogs become violent because they are mistreated! Ban the mistreatment, not the dog! These laws only serve to illustrate how incompetent our elected officials are.

The breed isnt bad it is the owner that do not know how to take care of them...
