Eliminate Cruel Fur Trade

The fur industry is responsible for the mistreatment and death of over 55 million animals annually in the name of fashion!!! People that buy furs literally sign the DEATH CERTIFICATE of such animals like the lynx, wolves, rabbits, coyotes, foxes, minks, raccoons, beavers, squirrels and even cats and dogs!

Animals imprisoned against their will in fur farms suffer extreme physical pain and behavioral abnormalities from being caged and mistreated. After a torturous life they are cruelly murdered in such a manner to preserve their hide (fur).

If, like me, you thought the barbaric practices of the fur trade ended years ago, you are wrong. And if, like me, you had no idea that dog and cat pelts are not only part of the Asian fur trade but also available on the European market then you should read on. The horrific and disturbing videos of dogs, cats, foxes, racoons, mink, rabbits and a whole host of other animals living in unspeakably neglectful conditions and then being skinned alive for their fur and left to die in agony are heartbreaking.

We cannot expect that Fur Trading will be banned, but every effort to reduce fur production means saving animal lives. This lays solely within the hands of the consumer…you and you and you…etc. An industry that puts profits before ethics can only survive as long as the demand continues to exist. If the demand declines, then supply will decline to the point the fur industry will no longer be a viable business option for many companies.

China has emerged as one of the world’s most powerful economies and over the last few years has become the biggest fur exporter in the world. Many of the international fur traders, manufacturers and fashion designers have shifted their business to China, where they can exploit cheap labor and the absence of restrictive animal welfare regulations.

It is not enough to stop buying fur coats, but we need to make those around us aware that fur “trimmed” clothing / coats is just as bad as buying a full fur coat. The fur trim industry is a “flourishing” business, with China being the largest producer and exporter of fur trim and accessories. It is important to understand that Fur trim is not what's left over from making fur coats, but in fact, the number of animals killed for fur trim is overtaking the number killed to make full coats!
