This is a rock quarry on the east side of Franklin Mountains State Park. Do we want the northwest side of the park to look like this?

Help save El Paso's Franklin Mountains

Target:
People living in El Paso and around the world.

The City of El Paso's Open Space Master Plan calls for a mountain to river trail using Arroyo 41A, the last unobstructed arroyo connecting the Franklin Mountains to the Rio Grande. This arroyo can provide a unique setting for recreational activities for El Pasoans and visitors as well as maintain important wildlife habitat.  Quarrying activities planned on General Land Office leased land adjacent to and including parts of Arroyo 41A threaten the integrity and viability of that trail and a portion of Franklin Mountains State Park.  We the undersigned urge our political leaders to work with the quarry operator to prevent quarrying from occurring on land in or adjacent to the planned mountain to river trail and to maintain the original design of this valuable recreational and wildlife corridor.

This quarry should not be allowed to operate on the Franklin Mountains. Has any member even been here to see how this affects our community?

Jobe always gets it's way. Let stop it this time.

There are plenty of quarry sites in the Franklin Mountains vicinity without destroying this beautiful national treasure. Please do not allow one more rock to be removed from the Franklin Mountains.

I request quarrying activities along the west side of the franklin mountains be halted immediately. Quarrying will be a greatly diminish the aesthetic beauty of the west side mountain and very likely diminish the property values and in particular those homes that boast a "mountain view" as part of their sales. Further, and equally important is the negative impact on our state parks, destruction of fragile wildlife habitat and recreational oportunities that include high volume mountain and park trails. Please prevent this valuable recreational and wildlife corridor from being destroyed forever.

Jobe has done enough damage to our beatiful mountain. Just take a look at the gouge they've taken off of the east side-a travesty.

Jobe cannot and will not be allowed to do this to the Franklin mountains. They have proven that their strip mining style is catastrophic to all forms of life and a horrible injustice to our desert wildlife. Jobe will be held responsible and will have to face negative national publicity for this.

We have enough quarry locations in El Paso. Can't we please leave this area untouched?

Please help preserver this wonderful habit of the Franklin Mountains. Not only for the inhabitants of the Mountains, but for those in the future who have to deal with the consequences of our actions for destroying something that was put there for a reason.

Please!! Let's stop the destruction of or parks and recreational areas in the El Paso area. We have fewer than other major cities of comparable size.
