Rainsville, AL Rescuer - Help Carrol Save Her Dogs

Target:
City Attorney, Jason L. Carrol; Judge Rains in Ft. Payne, AL; Rainsville Police Chief Robert Byrd
Carrol is in dire need of help with her animals.  She lives in a rural farming community on 5 acres of her grandparents home place.  Carrol has dedicated the last 10yrs. of her life rescuing neglected, abused homeless cats and dogs.  She lives on a meager Eastern Airlines retirement and Social Security Disability.

The mayor and city now want her shelter abolished despite the fact that there is no ordinance as to how many pets a person can have and there is no leash law.  The city has taken her to court and won.  The judge has ruled that she can have no more than 3 pets.

Please visit here to find more details of Carrol's story.  It is heart touching and anyone who loves animals can not help but be moved to action.

http://www.humanesocietysil.org/rainsvillerescue/

We are asking that the city officials at least give Carol the time needed to place the remaining 78 animals, out of 100, so that they will be safe and not destroyed.

We the undersigned are writing on behalf of Carrol Crocker and the remaining 78 animals in her care.  Rescue groups nationwide are working in a coordinated effort to transfer these homes to other rescue groups who will care for them and find them a permanent loving home.

We ask that you will give these rescue groups time to complete this task.  We feel that it is the least you can do for Carrol who has lost her home to a fire, and who now is losing the animals she has loved and cared for as her own family all these years.

Carrol is doing a great job taking care of so many unwanted animals and this since ten years! Why she should be ask to get rid of those animals as we known nobody else will take care of them? The only solution to be fair and human is that authorities give her license and help to go on her mission. Carrol'cats and dogs must be stay carrol's home where they belong !

Judge Rains of Rainsville? Got it? Someone (neighbor, official, developer) wants her granpa's land. They not only killed her dogs and cats that got trapped inside, they tried to kill Carrol. Good ol' boys all want a piece of the action. Protection? No-- Killers? YES Civil rights? Again--NONE What a disgusting act of cowardice and greed.

a more litigious person wouldve appealed this judgement to the highest possible court as it is unconsititutional; but for better or worse, ms carrol is not litigious but kind and unassuming. i hope that our signatures and prayers can do enough to make the difference in her life that she has made in all those animals lives.

The court is out of order. It has no right to tell her to get rid of her dogs and cats. I thought that they would be grateful that she is rescuing these animals. By doing this she is helping out the shelter in her area. She is rescuing animals that might have otherwise been killed. Carrol Crocker, you have my support. Can you also please sign my two petitions. Im trying to help ban the use of gas chambers, an inhumane and outdated form of execution. Thankyou and God bless. http://www.thepetitionsite.com/9/ban-the-use-of-gas-chambers-----http://www.thepetitionsite.com/10/ban-the-use-of-gas-chambers

I love animals and especially dogs. I think it is wonderful that there is a person who cares enough to take in these animals and care for them. I would have a thousand dogs if I could take care of them all. I don't agree with putting animals down. They have feelings too. The dogs aren't bothering anyone up here and it is ridiculous they are making her get rid of them. The town of Rainsville should be ashamed of themselves!

I agree that things happen for a reason , but this is just another case of big brother. This country was built on the belief that all men had certain rights , such as the pursuit of happiness. If there is not a mental reason why she shouldn't have more then 3 dogs why is she being forced. Its no different then a owner having more then 3 race horse or pasture full of cows.

This really touches my heart. I am a huge animal lover. I have 5 dogs and 1 cat and they are all my BABIES. I believe the people of Ft.Payne, AL must have pretty boring lives if all they have to do is bitch about a lady that is making a difference!

Come on folks. This lady isn't asking to keep the dogs herself. She is looking to rescue them. Just think some of these animals could be trained for different things. To go to nursing homes, hospitals, be a guide dog, or a help dog for people with arthritis, muscular problems etc. Carrol isn't asking for help just time. What can time hurt. It is inhumane to kill one of these animals when they have been loved and taken care of. Please give her a chance to find these beautiful animals homes.

Please reconsider letting her keep her dogs or at least give her the needed time to get good homes for them. Its a shame, this lady must have a heart of gold and all this land could help unwanted dogs have better place to live or find homes, but she must of done something as bad as gassing her dogs orskinning them alive or some kind of horriable abuse for the judge to order such a deadly force for the ones left there. Why can't others come live with her and make this world a better place for animals ? What are your plans to better the lives of these dogs? If we could turn this around and go to court and talk to the judge and fix the problem ,I and so many people would move in if she wanted to make this work and you and judge would reconsider your motives of whats best.Do you gas your dogs? Are you just going to kill these dogs in three to 5 days or send them to be used in research labs?Did she hang a grey hound that is a looser in the race in a tree. She must of been worse, because those hidious crimes and abuse are legal, why I don't Know.I do know that they are beyond inhumane. She just needs help and not your kind. Darla

These animals are innocent victims of their prior owners/or breeders. This lady is trying to do what is right by being unselfish and compassionate to these animals. These animals have done nothing to deserve their execution the authorities impose. I don't understand how any officials with a conscience could take the lives of these innocent animals.

I holpe Carol win this case. In the event that she doesw not I will gladly do anything she needs to help continue fighting this, or help adopt the animals out!

With all the cruelty that humans impose on each other and on defenseless animals, we do NOT need a so-called "Justice" system imposing even greater cruelties on the animals that Carrol Crocker has sought to help. The Ft. Payne, AL prosecutor and judge and Rainsville Police need to find out what their true motivations are in going after this woman and her good deeds. What is it with you men, anyway, that everything you "accomplish" has to do with force, guns, ad infinitum. Get a grip on yourselves. Join the Army and volunteer for Afghanistan if you're looking for trouble and can't find your match in Alabama.

all life is valuable and pets enrich our lives and we should take good care of the animal we are blessed with . this lady had done so much to rescue these animasl and should be given the opportunity to get these dogs to other shelters where they can be adopted into good homes.

Carrol, I think it is wonderful what you are doing for these animals. The judge needs to back off. What the Country needs is more people like you! An idea I have try to get in touch with Ellen Degenerous, she is a lover of animals, she might be able to help in some way.

This is a very important issue to me because I have always been an animal lover and growing up we lost many for different reasons. If I could safely care for anuimals the way Mrs. Crocker is doing I would. I hope that instead of stopping her, she is able to get some assistance to better do the great job that she is doing.

Discovering that, due to a few neighbors' selfishness, people are willing to commit this level of violence and mass murder is a shock to me. These sort of situations change my view on humankind. I do not want to consider myself part of a society that will kill helpless animals for no reason other than to appease a few people. Dogs are called "man's best friend" for a reason. They keep people company, they are loyal, and they have saved human lives on many occasions. Is this how we will repay them?..killing them all for no reason, other than to satisfy a couple heartless and selfish individuals? This is wrong in absolutely EVERY aspect.

Sge gives a service to the unwanted animals that the town doesn't. Let her keep her hearts work. This is something we as people need. I commend her for what she is doing and think that the town should leave her alone
