Fast Oil by Tar sands

Tar Sands are like fast food, they may look like a good thing, but they are really bad for you in the long run. People may say that the tar sands bring in a lot of money, and they do, but not enough to make it right. And to top it off we sell our oil for less than we should considering how much land is being destroyed to get it.
It is true that the tar sand offer good money to the people who work there, but in the end they do not have a better life style, because all the people rushing to work there has resulted in prices shooting up.
So in the long run people have to ask what we should do, should we let our land be torn up by business people who get all the money, or should we say no to this.
This is not just for people who live far away and just think that it should be stopped, it is also for the people whose cancer and illness rates have gone sky high because they happen to live down stream of the drilling up stream.
So please, think about the people who will be affected by the tar sands, and most likely it will be a bad effect.

Dear Senator Richard Neufeld,
We the undersigned,
are contacting you today to ask you to step up and speak for all those who wish to see change with the Tar Sands. The change we talk of is to stop the Tar Sands from expanding anymore that it has, and over a fairly short period of time, to begin to close down the Tar Sands completely. This is a big request, but big change has to start somewhere. We hope that you can help us push forward in our crusade for change in the Tar Sands.
The reason we push forward to change the Tar Sands is not to cause trouble for our fellow man working there, but for our fellow man who has to take brunt of the blow because he happens to live downstream of a Oil drilling facility. Not only for our fellow man, but for man%u2019s best friends, (dogs, cats, ect) and all the other animals and the environment, while we destroy their homes and the conditions they need to live. Can we just stand by when it goes against our beliefs, even if it benefits Big Oil's wallet?
We believe that that most of us signing this petition do not know the best way of making this change at the political level. That is why we would like your knowledge and experience to help guide this effort. As I said before, this is a big thing we are asking you to do, but we petitioners believe that together we can bring forth this change in the Tar Sands industry.
