Recall Governor Brian E. Sandoval

This is an unofficial petition to see if there are enough Nevadans upset with the job done thus far by Governor elect Brian E. Sandoval. "He has proposed budget includes a 20 percent cut for the Nevada System of Higher Education, which would force the community colleges would see significant reductions. For example, scenarios include merging three Northern Nevada colleges, closing all of the College of Southern Nevada satellite campuses and reducing the number of class offerings.Fees and tuition would rise significantly. The law school, for example, would triple tuition over what it was three years ago. ( Las Vegas Sun, 3/11)"

As reported by the Las Vegas Review Journal, " Sandoval's proposal found $1 billion in extra revenue for his general fund budget by using "trickery" and "gimmicks," including borrowing $190 million against future insurance premium tax collections and transferring $425 million in bond reserves for school districts into an operating account to cover kindergarten through 12th grade costs (Laura Myers, Jan. 30th)"

"The proposed a budget cut of $2.26 million for the law school as part of $32.6 million in cuts for the university. He outlined the proposal in a letter to faculty and students on March 8.The law school would reduce its operating budget by $68,351, while the rest of the cuts will be made up with tuition and fee increases. The university plans to eliminate 315 faculty and staff positions, although there is no plan to eliminate law school faculty or staff. ( Karen Sloan,The National Law Journal -March 09, 2011)"

His only ATTEMPT to revitalize education as suggested in his campagain adds is a "Voucher programs that  would give families at or near the poverty line a voucher worth just over $5,000 per student. The amount of the voucher would decrease, on a sliding scale, to about $2,500 for families who earn 400 percent or more of the poverty line (Posted by NN&V Staff on Mar 10th, 2011 )"

But as much of you know , "Proponents of school vouchers argue that they make private education more accessible to low-income families, allow students a way out of failing schools and inject competition into a system believed to coddle teachers.

They, and John McCain, couldn't be more wrong. Studies of the longest running school voucher system in Milwaukee have shown that voucher students perform the at same level as their non-voucher peers. While vouchers claim to make private education available to low-income children, the amounts they usually offer 2014 around $5000 to $6000 for a year %u2014 wouldn't pay for half the yearly tuition at most private schools.(Sarah Gaither October 21, 2008)"

Mind you, this is just in education his policy's are also going to effect unions, the mentally ill, aged care and mining. It is up to you to decided whether or not you want to see where this road leads but if you have heard enough then this is where you make your stand. Forget about protesting, walking the streets or siting in the rain it is time to start making statements with actions and show the Governor that enough is enough!
