Because we are of either a different faith or have none at all, your religious symbol is a source of discomfort to us and gives us a feeling of being disrespected by you when it is displayed, on this secular, government owned, public property. I am a resident of Santa Cruz. For those people who are against signing this petition, how would you react if there were a huge cross outside the post office? For the last few years all religious symbols have only represented the intolerance, ignorance, hatred, and destruction committed in the name of or caused by religion all over the world.
