Stop The Decrease of Sea Turtle Populations

For over 150 million years these animals have roamed Earth and now they are in desperate need of our help.  Populations continue to decline as their habitat is lost and the trade in sea turtle products continues.  Every year thousands of sea turtles drown in shrimp trawls and others die from pollutants or from swallowing trash mistaken for food.  We should be providing more protection of their habitat and stop the sea turtle product trade.  There should be harsh punishments for violators of doing anything that could potentially harm sea turtles, like killing them for products to sell or putting trash in a area that is known as a habitat.  Harsher punishments would show that we are serious about keeping this species of animal alive and there will be consequences to anyone that potentially threatens their population.  In this petition, I am asking the US Fish and Wildlife Service to further protect all sea turtle species and their habitat in any way they can.  These animals are on the brink of extinction and if we do not act, the world will never see them again.
We the undersigned are concerned about the declining population of sea turtles in our oceans and are asking you to take more action in defending their habitat and protecting them.  This would mean putting all species on the endangered list and having harsh consequences for anyone threatening their habitat or trading sea turtle products.  These harsh punishment will help secure a future for these animals and allow them to keep roaming the Earth, as they have done for over 150 million years.  I appreciate your time and cooperation in reading this letter and hearing our voices.  We hope to see you take action on the issue and thank you once again.
Sincerely,
