The Canadian seal hunt (or more accurately, massacre) takes the lives of over 220,000 seal pups every year. A few thousand Canadian fishermen bludgeon and shoot these two week to two month old seals, hook, drag and skin many while they were still alive and conscious, and sell their skins to European and Asian furriers. The bodies of these seals are then left to rot.
