We are targeting the Prime Minister of Canada, the Liberal leader, the Governor General of Canada, the Canadian Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, and the Premier of Newfoundland today with a petition. We hope to have at least 15,000 signatures! PETA and IFAW are on the road, running across Canada behind the Olympic torch. We need to support them in their efforts. We need to stop the evil Newfoundland Seal Clubbing, NOW!!!

I have recently viewed, via the internet, the attached video of the growing relationship between Canada and China as relates to the fur trade.  It's unconscionable of Canada to consider allowing cat and dog fur into the country in order to continue the Newfoundland seal slaughter, which has been condemned by the rest of the world for decades.

 

I sympathise with the majority of Canadians who have opposed the slaughter for decades, and who have seen their tax dollars wasted to subsidize it.  I am asking you at this time to consider the requests of the international community to put an end to the seal hunt for good. It's the job of any Government to listen to the will of the people. But clearly this is not the case within Canada. I thought Canada was a democratic nation?  Please stop this seal hunt immediately before the image of your country is damaged permanently!
