Stop The Proposed Fumigation By The DNR Of Kosciusko County

Stop The Proposed Fumigation By The DNR Of Kosciusko County

Target:
Gov. Mitchell E. Daniels, Indiana DNR, Phillip T. Marshall, Indiana General Assembly
Sponsored by:
Thousands of Indiana residents (Including Kosciusko County/Warsaw/Winona Lake) and their property are being threatened to be sprayed with pesticides containing partly unknown chemicals.  These unknown inert chemical ingredients included in this synthetic concoction could be carcinogens (according to the EPA). The known chemical(s) being used are known toxins (eye, skin, and respiratory irritants).  No long term studies have been done on the effects to human health.  The proposed sprayings will not be done to protect residents from a clear and present public health danger, but rather to protect special interests worried about eradicating the Gypsy Moth.

We do NOT approve and will not tolerate the spraying/fumigation/dropping/planting, etc. of pesticides/insecticides in our area of Indiana/Kosciusko County/Warsaw/Winona Lake.

Indiana/Kosciusko County/Warsaw/Winona Lake residents have a right to refuse fumigation without proof of a clear and present public health danger. Any mandatory pesticide spraying of chemicals must be approved by the people in the area to be sprayed with a vote.

Even though the State of Indiana has denied any public health threat, government agencies from other states, including California, admit that the pesticide could pose a threat to some people, stating "not all health effects can be predicted and because the general population includes susceptible (people), such as children, the elderly and those with chronic diseases, we cannot provide a definitive cause for their symptoms [experienced after the spraying in Santa Cruz and Monterey]."

We need laws that protect us and our environment, not special interests, and to ensure that we are not subjected to chemicals against our individual rights without due process, and a public vote.

We therefore demand legislation requiring that any mandatory aerial spraying of any chemical over populated areas or private property must have the explicit consent of the individuals and property owners.  Further, if the spraying is to address a public health danger, it must be approved by a 2/3 majority public vote.

The Indiana Dept. of Natural Resources is only taking comments until Feb. 12, 2009 on this issue.

You can also submit comments by sending them to:  DNR division of entomology and plant pathology, 402 West Washington Street, Room 290W.  Indianapolis, IN  46204.  or fax to: 317-232-2649.  or contact Scott Kinzie at 317-232-4120.  Comments will be taken no later that Feb. 12, 2009!

Cancer is on the rise. The current statistics are that 1 out of every 3 people will get some form of cancer sometime in their life. That statistic alone is overwhelmingly scary!!! It could be you, or someone very close to you, to be the next person diagnosed with the dreadfully horrifying disease of cancer. Please, let's do what we can to STOP cancer-causing behavior! Before it's too late - for you, ..... or that close loved one. Thank-you.

Please preserve our Earth. It is important to protect the environment - for ourselves and for our children! Whatever we do, it won't just disappear when we make a profit on it. We may live luxury but we will incur more disease for ourselves and others by polluting the lands of many co-inhabitant.

We are going through the same fight here in the San Francisco Bay Area. We were aerial sprayed with pesticides last Fall - for the Light Brown Apple Moth. Our government agencies are violating our inalienable rights by assaulting us with untested chemicals. We all need to wake up to this - since apparently this is happening all over the country!

this is rediculous. i dont want anything used that has not been tested for long term effects on people. i dont live in these mentioned counties however i live only a few miles from the kosioscko county line, i have young kids and horses that are outside all the time and i dont want this fumigation to possibly cause them any kind of health issues in their future. there is enough things in this world that are unhealthy for them lets not add to the problem!!!!!!!!!!!

The DNR wants to spray dangerous chemicals, into the air, that will land on our backyards ( pets and children), into the air we are breathing (all of us), and if that alone does not kill us, the spray will get into our farm fields so that we may consume it later in the foods we eat. NO ! DO NOT SPRAY ! FIND ANOTHER WAY!

My personal opinion is that we do not! want spraying of chemicals of any type from an aircraft so that our children in the backyards of america breathe this junk in and causing God knows what to happen to them later in life when they (the goverenment) come back and tell us that it was a mistake because they did not test the product for its potential effects on our bodies, minds, Health in general, I don't want it done in KOS. Co. , we live on the edge of Kos.Co. and Fulton Co. and the folks here Do Not Want Sprayed Either!!!!!!!

Due to toxic over load our 4 children have already suffered for it. They all deal with issues of Autisum. This means any chemical foriegn to them can and often does cause problems. We are trying to help our children Not make things worse! I am praying that in the name of Jesus, Some one will hear the cry of these children and not allow something such as this to put harm in their way (or AIR , WATER FOOD because of SOIL) All are eventually effected by such acts. I am petitioning against this and as an American citizen am voicing it!STOP POISINING YOUR FELLOWMAN

It is a basic human right to refuse deliberate exposure to chemicals. We have a right to the ultimate say over what goes into our bodies. If we don't want to be exposed, then no means no.
