Support Wikileaks: Boycott Amazon and PayPal this Holiday Season
Inasmuch as Amazon and PayPal have denied service to Wikileaks under pressure from U.S. government officials as part of an orchestrated international attack on Wikileaks and it's founder, Julian Assange, I pledge to boycott Amazon and PayPal for the duration of this Holiday Season.
When corporations cravenly assist in suppressing the free flow of information, enabling, in effect, secret governments unaccountable to their citizens, they become enemies of democracy and of the people. I will not give a cent of my money to assist in or reward such a sordid undertaking.
We, the undersigned, deplore your participation in the persecution of Wikileaks by denying service to the same under pressure from officials of the U.S. Government. Rather than championing freedom of information and defending the interests of the people, you have chosen to protect the secrets of the powerful and the corrupt, both at home and abroad. This creates conditions antithetical to the healthy functioning of democracy, enables the execution of secret wars at taxpayer expense, and corrupts the conduct of our foreign policy. We ask that you reconsider your actions. Thank you for your attention.
