Take Leadership Now to End the War in Iraq

Take Leadership Now to End the War in Iraq

Target:
Sen. Hillary Clinton and Senator Barack Obama.

Senator Clinton and Senator Obama, you have both said that the time to begin ending the war in Iraq is now.  As sitting Senators, you have that power in your hands.   President Bush cannot spend a penny on the war without the approval of both houses of Congress.

When the Senate takes up the next war funding bill, we call on you to lead a filibuster, refusing to stand down until your colleagues agree to vote against any bill that continues to fund the war in Iraq rather than funding the swift and safe return of our troops

This war is probably the most ridiculous and unjustified move that any president has ever made in my life. I am speaking from personal experience, I am the daughter of a 20 year Air Force veteran, who did two tours in Desert Shield and Desert Storm. It was hard for me to understand things when my dad was over there, but now my husband who is in the Army National Guard....the one's who are supposed to be here protecting our homeside....may be deployed in May of 2009. Not only is it going to be hard for me to see my husband, the father of my two beautiful girls, go to war, but how in the world am I supposed to explain the reasons of this pointless war to a six and a three year old? All they know is that daddy isn't gonna be with them for who knows how long. When my dad went I was old enough to understand it....but that did not take away the worries or the nightmares that any little girl has when there dad is gone off to war. This madness needs to be stopped!!!! TOO many young men and women have lost their lives to a war that we had no business being involved in to begin with. How many more families have to go through the pain of losing their loved ones because of the stupidity of our president who claims that this war is for the better benifit of our country????? No amount of money or "I'm Sorries" can bring our fallen soldiers back,so they just need to bring our people home and let other countries deal with their own problems. We as the United States have enough problems to deal with here before we try to fix the problems of other countries.

THE BEST THING BUSH & CHENEY COULD DO FOR THEMSELVES AND FOR THE WORLD WOULD BE TO IMMEDIATELY RESIGN FROM OFFICE AND VOLUNTARILY COMMIT INTO PSYCHIATRIC TREATMENT. IF THEY DO THIS THEY MAY LIKELY BE SAVED FROM ARREST, TRIAL AND EXECUTION UNDER INTERNATIONAL WAR CRIMES LAWS. FOR THEY WOULD LIKELY BE PLACED IN CONFINEMENT FOR THE REST OF THEIR NATURAL LIVES ON AN INSANITY PLEA. . . . Since the Congress refuses to impeach Bush and Cheney because of their own guilt as accessories before and after the fact to the crimes committed, We need to seek involuntary commitment of Bush and Cheney as they both pose a real and demonstrated continuing threat to the world! . . . Sample forms for petitions for involuntary commitment of Bush and Cheney are linked to this site so that We the People can take action to seek a removal from office of Bush and Cheney on grounds of mental incapacity. With sufficient financial support to sustain legal proceedings in a court of competent jurisdiction, a class action petition will be filed seeking involuntary commitment of Bush and Cheney. (Wallace, Doug (J.D.). AMERICA IN ACTION!! CRIMINAL MINDS OR INSANITY OR BOTH? (Is there any difference?). Retrieved September 8, 2008, from http://www.commit-bush-n-cheney.org/) PETITION FOR ORDER OF INVOLUNTARY COMMITMENT AND TREATMENT OF GEORGE WALKER BUSH Linda Singer Office of the DC Attorney General 441 4th Street NW, Suite 1060 N Washington, DC 20001 This is a petition for the involuntary commitment for psychoanalysis and treatment of George Walker Bush President of the United States hereinafter called GWB. This petition is based upon the the obvious condition of mental depravity of GWB as follows: A. By way of an analysis of Megalomania from a study by Dr. Justin Frank, M.D. Washington psychiatrist in a book published June 2004, Bush on the Couch. B. By way of a similar analysis of Adolf Hitler made by a group psychiatric diagnosis of Megalomania under contract by the Office of Strategic Services [O.S.S] Published by Henry A. Murry, M.D. October, 1943. C. By way of Insane Delusion concerning his projected perceived bogus “terrorist” enemies of the United States as projected against Iraq, Iran, Syria and North Korea. The real enemy being GWB to himself for which we all suffer. As a result of this mental depravity, GWB: 1. ordered approximately Four Thousand [4,000] US military personnel to their deaths. 2. caused the injury, loss of limbs, eyesight, hearing and permanent maiming of approximately Twenty Six Thousand [26,000] US military personnel. 3. caused the deaths of an estimated Six Hundred Fifty Thousand [650,000] Iraqis. 4. Caused the destruction of billions of dollars of infrastructure of the nation of Iraq. 5. immersed the United States in debt beyond it's capacity to pay. 6. indebted future generations presently estimated at One Hundred Thousand Dollars each. 7. ingratiated the image and character of the United States without regard to its citizens. 8. intends to involve the US in a never ending war against a bogus enemy. 9. tortured and held prisoners without trial or honoring human rights. 10. violated the Constitution, Treaties , National and International laws. For these reasons the undersigned individual alleges that GWB is a mental threat to National and World peace, safety and security and petitions the District of Columbia Attorney General to file immediately for an order of commitment. Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Pentagon Washington, DC 20001 RE: Resistance to further widening warfare Sir: As a member of a class of persons referred to in the Preamble of the Constitution , as We the People, the undersigned person(s) requests that you defer to the will of We the People, any further widening or escalation of military actions across the globe including but not limited to the nation of Iran as may be requested by your Commander in Chief, George Walker Bush. Currently, effort is underway to seek involuntary confinement and treatment of the said George Walker Bush for mental disorders including but not limited to Megalomania . The same or similar mental disorders were attributed to Adolf Hitler under a diagnosis requested by the Office of Strategic Services in 1943. German Generals had sought but were unable to deter Hitler based upon his mental disorder to the cost of 50 million casualties. Had they succeeded those “collateral” damages would have been far less. Involuntary Commitment of Dick Cheney for insane delusions against the interests of we the people is also being sought. In the interests of peace and justice I/we request that you order a stand down to any further orders of escalations emanating from the White House until such time as the issues of mental depredation of both Bush and Cheney have been settled. From my/our perspective, it would be appropriate for you and all commissioned officers of the military to also request an order to determine the mental capacity of Bush to command. Can you also bring up charges for Courts Martial? This war needs to end. I get that the U.S. doesn't want to be seen as weak or as giving up, but sometimes you have to sacrifice your pride for the greater good. The men and women over there miss their families their homes. They are being blindsided on roads and attacked for no reason, and for what? Am I missing something? Please for the sake of our brave men and women bring this war to a close, give them a deadline to look forward to and stop changing it! And to they rest of you out there please remember that while we may not support the war that in no way means we shouldn't support our troops

Stop lossing these soldiers is not even legal and is only to be used in time of war! We never declared war on Iraq, so Mr. Bush and the government should all be punished for violating and abusing the term!

This is an illegal action and President Bush has made war proclamations that are unconstitutional. Please sand up for our rights as American citizens and stop the Iraqi occupation now. Have the testicular/ovarian fortitude to strongly oppose the war. What are you afraid of. The American People need courageous representatives not tools of the Republican administration!

I have been on a campaign to end the Iraq war since it's beginning. As you know, it was started on lies, and many of our soldiers have been treated worse than convicted murderers... on the battlefield, and after their return home. My daughter was one of those soldiers who was treated worse than horrible. She spent a year in Baghdad at the beginning of the war in Iraq. Our story is chapter 16 in the book "For Love of a Soldier" by Jane Collins. Many of my friends' stories are also in this book, and these stories should never have happened. Thank you for speaking out so far; but we need much more. The needless suffering of our soldiers and innocent Iraqi people is beyond measure. Please use your influence in the Senate to bring our soldiers home NOW! Please.

Hello. I wanted to send out this note to not only to tell my story but help educate you all on the hidden causalities of this war, the suicide victims. Did you know that Approximately 118 soldiers in 207 committed suicide and nearly the same number in 2006 due to contributing factors of depression and/or PTSD. Please, help stop this Tragedy from destroying another family or taking the life of yet another hero (our soldiers)...................... Scott committed suicide on May 16, 2008 by putting a gun to his head in our family home. He left behind a wife, two small children and a step-daughter, family, and friends that loved him dearly. Scott Eiswert a causality of this war. A suicide victim............ http://eiswert.family.tripod.com/ Sincerely, Tracy Eiswert

Bush and Cheney lied to this Nation to start an illegal war of aggression on Iraq for oil. Why are these people NOT arrested for war crimes? As an American I demand it!!!! Government is the servant, not the master, of the people. (Thomas Jefferson) How could we send our young men and woman over there and claimed they are protecting OUR freedom... while this government used fear to take away our freedoms. Something MUST be done...we the people are the ones who can make this change...this is the very reason our forefathers gave us this honor. Country before party!

Senator Clinton and Senator Obama, PLEASE fight to bring our troops home NOW. I am a U.S Air Force and U.S. Army veteran. I was taught right from wrong by my parents. I was taught right from wrong by my military supervisors.(I was blessed to have great ones). I was proud to serve. The case of Suzanne Swift (www.suzanneswift.org)has changed that. Please bring our troops home and out of harm's way.....the harm coming from their own colleagues! PLEASE!!

My marine will be deploying for Iraq in September. While he will never complain about being sent away, it is frustrating that, unlike past wars, this one has lost its purpose. No one wants to die in war, but more than that, no one wants to die without a cause.

I know you will not filibuster the funding bill, but to acknowledge and respect the wishes of almost 70% of Americans to bring our troops home would be a great step forward. To stay in lockstep with a president who has the lowest approval rating in history and is a joke to the rest of the world just makes no sense. More and more Republicans are seeing the light; isn't it time?

We must also include "Troop replacement" language with our "Withdrawal" statements. This not only keeps us from being accused of "cutting and running" (During a crucial election) but also is the necessary first step to prevent a likely blood bath created in the absence of our troops (Remember our Viet Nam withdrawal!).

Bush and Cheney lied to start an illegal war of agression on Iraq, a country that did nothing to us and posed no national security threat to us. Uphold your oath of office to the Constitution and impeach Bush and Cheney and the other guilty parties in their administration and don't give them one more dollar to wage this illegal, unjust, genocide on the Iraqi people. Not one more dollar, not one more death. Troops home NOW!

I went into the U.S. Army on 1/19/70. On 6/14/70 I was in Vietnam and ready to be deployed. Five years after we overthrow Hussein the Iraqi's can't train enough soldiers to handleheir own affairs? If they can't fight for themselves now they won't ever be able to.

We are involved with the Traprock Peace Center in Greenfield, MA. Sally is president of the board there. We are both members of the Northampton Committee to Stop the War in Iraq. We know any number of people whose family members have been sent as soldiers -- more than once -- to Iraq. What for ? One family we know lost their 21-year-old nephew. This family owns a small business; they are patriotic Americans; they are not necessarily terribly "political". But they do ask -- What for? What did he die for? They do not see any necessity for this war, certainly not for the continuation of it year after year. Neither do my husband or I. We are retired older Americans who saw and struggled against our country's stubborn insistence about Viet Nam. We are greatly saddened to see the United States embarked on another foreign debacle. We passionately oppose this war, which has turned into a dangerous occupation imperiling the lives of our service men and women and also so very many Iraqis.

My son was deployed 22 months as a Mn National Guard member and served 16 months in Iraq.In this national guard unit 9 men were killed and at least 200 were wounded.Since when does supporting the troops mean letting them die for their leaders lies, and not taking care of them here at home. Every day at least 17 soldiers commit suicide as a result of this war and extensions, repeat deployments and lack of help when they get home.Enough of this lopsided sacrifice on the backs of military families, for a war of deception.STOP THE WAR, STOP THE LIES NOW.
