It is simply wrong to take a child from it's mother when any genuine concern could be met by other measures. Not so long ago there was an article in the Falmouth Independent, a newspaper in Corwall, U.K. which said that as coucils were given incentive payments to reduce the number of children in care this led to social workers taking babies into care knowing that they would be soon adopted so the council concerned could boost it's adoption numbers for incentive payments. Also, it seemed, solicitors were willing participants as ordering paychiatric reports on the mother and other medical reports and court work generally became a lucrative source of income.

I too suffered various problems as a teenager, I now have a 1 year ols son who is healthly, VERY loved and has a modest but good life. He was the one thing that turned my life around. Fran should AT LEAST be given the chance to prove she is a good mother without having her baby taken from her. Those first moments with your baby are the more vital, that early bonding. Any mother can vouch for that. Don't deprive her OR her baby of that. ust look up your attachment theories and see what damage taking the baby can do to the baby mentally. Thats abuse.

It is completely against both the mother and babies Human rights to take the baby away based on a maybe.This should be monitored by social services but not ascted upon.After all this is one opinion from one "professional".Other professional opinions should be sought and if I were her I should insist on this professional still working in the NHS.A independant private opinion should be sought too.Perhaps she could ask her treating pyschitrist to refer her for an assessment. People who are treating you and refer you to somone else within the NHS have your best interests at heart. As opposed to a court apointed professional that does court reports for a living. Even if it were the case she had Munchausen syndrome by proxy she should have help not punishment. I think that there isnt enough evidence usually to prove munchausen by proxy and so that they should wait and see how they both fair.The legal system for both private and public law in my opinion is disempowering to women[and men]and she should fight tooth and nail to disprove this peditrician and his lone opinion.Keep fighting and dispute every little detail of the allegations if you can.

fRAN MY HEART & THOTS R WITH U LOVE!social work took my 2 sons then aged 13mnths & 9wks for "3wks RESTPITE" that was in dec 2003 & they still haven't gave me them back! i also had mental health problems as a teenager as a result of sexual abuse from the age of 6 to 9 and they r saying that coz that happend to me that id do it or allow it to be done to my own kids this is total NONSENSE!!!!!! What happend to me has only strengthend my maternal insinct to PROTECT not only MY KIDS but ALL KIDS from these EVIL SKUM! most social workers(like the 1 who removed my boys)dont even have any kids of ther own so as i c it r in NO position to tell ANYONE ELSE HOW 2 raise thier kids or that they r a bad parent or doing it wrong! You CANNOT "LEARN" HOW 2 TAKE CARE OF KIDS FROM A TEXT BOOK OR SAY BECAUSE SUM1 WAS IN CARE THEMSELVES AS A TEENAGER THAT THEY'LL B A BAD PARENT?I see my kids for an hour once a month & my mum, gran, brothers,stepdad & the rest of my extended family DONT SEE THEM AT ALL & HAVENT SEEN THEM IN ALMOST 4 YRS?tHEY LIVE WITH MY MUMS SISTERS & this makes it worse that with the support of social work "family" can do this to me!Its also unfair on the kids who could have stayed with me if social work had put additional supports in place but that would have ment EXTRA WORK for them this was easier!They say they tried to rehabilitate the boys with me but this is RUBBISH!When they took my boys i turned to drugs to make me forget but came to my senses after a few mnths ,AT THIS POINT I WANT TO STRESS TO ANYONE WHO READS THIS THAT NONE of my boys were born with DRUG OR ALCOHOL ADDICTIONS they were both very healthy and good weights my oldest was on time weighing 7lb 3oz & my youngest who was 4 & a 1/2 wks premature weighed a VERY helthy 7lb 1 & 1/2oz! & even though they were NOT BORN withdrawing from ANY KIND of drugs or alcohol social work still say that i WASan addict during BOTH my pegnancies even though DRS have told them that if there was ANY yruth in this then both kids would have showen SOME signs of this & they DIDNT?tHESE PEOPLE dont GIVE A TOSS ABOUT TRUTH OR WHO THEY HURT & 9 OUT OF 10 R TOTALLY CLUELESS when it comes to bieng tactful & understanding at the end of the day its just a wage to them to us its OUR LIFES??? NONE of my family have a criminal record they DONT do drugs they ARE honest clean living law abiding people who with the help & guidence of a "GOOD SOCIAL WORKER" who was genuinley trying to HELP ME thre would have been no reasons for concern , Instead they took the word of a self proclaimed LIER who has changed her story not only ONCE BUT 5 TIMES in the space of the 1st 6mnths of my case but they still take her word as the "HOLY GOSPEL" in the past 4yrs WHY belive someone who has freely addmitted lieing to you not once but 5 times?I have been TOTALLY CLEAN for 3 & 1/2yrs & HAVE NOT RELAPSED EVEN ONCE IN THAT TIME?I have done it ALL myself with NO HELP AT ALL FROM SOCIAL WORK only my family my G.P & counseler who are AMAZEING and have supported me A MILLION% i have beaten all this ALONE as far as social work gos they even REFUSED to help me get a house i had to wait 3yrs on the homless but im in my own flat in a relly nice area off drugs and doing as well as can be expected withought my babies and i did it with NO HELP from the so called "SYSTEM WHO ARE THERE TO HELP & SUPPORT PEOPLE LIKE ME" THEY HAVE LET ME & MY KIDS DOWN VERY BADLY AND STILL SIT & TRY TO CRITISISE EVERYTHING I'VE DONE TO SORT MY LIFE OUT FOR THE PAST 4YRS BECAUSE THEY CANT TAKE ANY CREDIT FOR ANY OF THE GOOD STUFF I'VE ACHIVED & MY G.P IS BEHIND ME 110% & HAS TOLD SOCIAL WORK THAT MY KIDS ARE IN NO DANGER AT ALL FROM ME & HES BEEN MY DR SCINCE I WAS BORN?THEY LIKE FRAN HAVE BASED THIER MEDICAL ASSESMENT ON A G.P WHO MET ME ONCE FOR 5MINS & WHO DID NOT HAVE ANY ACESS TO MY MEDICAL FILES WHO SAID I HAD POSTNATEL DEPRESSION & WAS A DANGER TO MYSELF & MY KIDS & THE PUBLIC?AND SHE GOT ALL THIS FROM A 5MIN CONVERSATION WITH NO MEDICAL HISTORY AVALIBLE TO HER & EVEN WHEN MY OWN DR SAID THAT IT WAS ALL NONSENSE THEY ARE STILL 4YRS ON USEING THE INFO OF A DR WHO DIDNT KNOW ME?IM AT A LOOSE END & DONT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO & MY HEART GOES OUT TO ALL THOSE MOTHERS WHO ARE IN THE SAME POSITION AS ME & FRAN?
