Michael Bishop helped put the Kansas State football program on the map.
Last week, Joseph passed for two touchdowns, but was also intercepted three times in a 47-28 loss in Edmonton. July 19, 2008.
Bishop passed for single-season career-highs of 2,920 yards, 22 touchdowns and completed 52.1% (185 of 355) of his passes. He spent parts of the season flirting with the best quarterback efficiency rating the CFL and finished as the leading rushing quarterback in the East with 260 yards.
Me and Kerry never had a problem with each other," Bishop said. "My only problem was the way that everything unfolded. I thought they could have been up front about everything instead of all the lies and all that."
It has been reported Bishop had been promised the starting job this season.
The 34-year-old(Joseph) ranks seventh among CFL quarterbacks with 839 passing yards. He has thrown three touchdown passes -- one more than Bishop, who has attempted 105 fewer passes.
Bishop entered Thursday's contest in the second half and completed four of seven passes for 89 yards and a touchdown. (not good enough I guess)
Joseph ranks seventh among Canadian Football League quarterbacks with 496 passing yards this season. He has completed 52 of 88 passes for two touchdowns and three interceptions, struggling to find consistency in a spluttering offence.
Adrion Smith reported on Sportsnet.ca that Stubler had decided to start Bishop against the Ticats. According to Smith (denied by Stubler) Joseph went to "higher ups", who then old Stubler to play Joseph over Bishop. While the story is surprising, I have no reason to doubt Adrion Smith as he would stand to lose a lot of credibility, and he would probably be Marty Yorked out of CFL inner circles.
The quarterback situation is a bigger problem than they are letting on in the Argos organization, even though it is a nice problem to have. Neither quarterback is happy and neither will play to their full abilities when they are playing "not to lose" the position. Both know if they make a mistake they will be replaced and that is no way to play the quarterback position.
How The Fans Feel
This should have been Bishop's team to lead this year. He proved last year he could be the #1 guy. With last year under his belt he should have been even better this season. Then management brings in Joseph and creates a mess. They didn't need Joseph IMO. Now the team appears divided on the issue as well as the fans. Nice job!
If I were Bishop I'd be pissed too. Whats up with this organization lately? First they shuffle Prefontaine out the door like a piece of trash after 10 seasons and then basically slap Bishop in the face by bringing in Joseph. Yup that's the way to run a successful franchise I guess.

This is his time. He is taking full advantage of what ten years of professional football has taught him. I never doubted him. I knew that he was the best, the first time I saw him play.
I had originally heard that Bishop was going to start and play the entire game, now since Kerry Joseph whined they are going to split? Ridiculous
Adrion Smith still has friends in the Argo locker room, it just takes one of them to leak information like this. It appears at least one player is taking Michael Bishop's side, maybe more. I hope so!
What part of the article did you not understand??? According to Adrian (and other sourses now) Bishop was told he was the starter, Joseph stomped out of the room and went up to see Pinball. Pinhead then layer down the law with Stubler, and you know the rest man!!! I cant imagine Adam Rita ordering/pressuring a coach to do this or that, Adam is a pro! That really leaves only Pinball
Michael Bishop had no problem last year IMHO I loved his play! Michael Bishop had no problems taking plays from the sidelines last year. Its unfair of Stubler to say it does not matter which QB is in, Bishop has hardly played??? When he did he got the only passing td Argos have this year. He is also the only Argo qb that has not fumbled or been sacked.
I have to disagree with one thing, Bishop would have made the difference, they should have never brought in Joseph. I have been a Argo fan all my life, Bishop brought excitement to my home that had been missing since Flutie. I am miserable about Joseph starting ahead of Bish
Did anybody even watch the TO games last year before critizing his play? I have always found Torontos relationship with Bishop to be odd. They dont hesitate to go pluck him out of the Arena league when they lose a QB to injury, but they never give him an extended run with the team either (even when he does perform relatively well).
WE WANT BISHOP! In 2004, Allen was hurt; Bishop carried us to and through the playoffs to a GREY CUP victory!!! AND, that was FOUR years ago; Michael Bishop has been loyal to the Argos for LONG enough! In 2007, he was 11 -1!!! Did you read that right? 11-1? YUP!!! What more can you ask from the man? Its MICHAEL BISHOPS time to shine and the Toronto Argonauts have SOLD HIM OUT! The Argos are known in the CFL as a big business, stuck up franchise with no heart, now theyve just earned their reputation! Argos want us to pass on the message to get fans out to games with their pass it on campaign . . . No way man! PASS THIS ON . . . WE WANT BISHOP!!!

We the undersigned are unsatisfied and want Micheal Bishop as #1 QB effective now. We paid to watch Bishop play not Joseph. You have lied and mistreated Bishop as a player and we want to see him play. As argo fans we are not happy and want change now. We want Bishop as our #1 starting QB now. We have no desire for Joseph.
