CLOSE DOWN FAILING PRHA KIPPER PROJECT HOUSE

Tower Hamlets Council has been funding a few Kipper Project Houses in London, which are supposed to be supporting vulnerable young women.

Unfortunately, for the last 5 years one house, in particular, is used by young men and women as a party house and drug den. There has been continuous problems with parties, drug use, open drug dealing, property damage, shouting, smashed windows, urinating in the garden, littering and people sleeping in the doorways etc. Clearly, this is not in the best interest of the vulnerable young women housed there and myself, my neighbours and the surrounding neighbourhood.

Over the course of the last 5 years my neighbours and I have had several meetings with PRHA Kipper Project, lodged official complaints but nothing seems to be changing.

As a result, I ask that PRHA Kipper Project be held accountable for the mismanagement and misuse of Tower Hamlets funding and move the young women to more supported housing, and finally shut this failing project down.

Tower Hamlets Council should grant the money to other successfully managed projects that will not fail the young people housed there.

I would appreciate an investigation into mismanagement and misuse of funding to PRHA Kipper Project House at 41 Approach Road, London, E2 9LY.  There have been continuous incidences of Anti Social Behaviour in all forms and constant Police Attendance over the last 5 years.  After investigation it appears that this is all being paid for by grants to PRHA Kipper Project from the Tower Hamlets Council Funds.  This project is clearly failing to protect the vulnerable young women that are housed there and causing many problems for surrounding neighbours that often results in police attendance due to anti social behaviour by management, tenants and guests. I understand that Tower Hamlets is under pressure to cut it's budget and this is one project that is clearly failing both tenants and the community. It should be shut down and monies used on better managed projects that support and protect the young people housed in them. Yours Sincerely,
