Investigate Duck Starvation at Country Club!

Groundskeepers at Long Island's Rockville Country Club have alerted animal rights groups to a starving ducks on premises after finding dead ducks strewn about the club's golf course. The club first purchased the attractive, flightless Pekin ducks in 2005, and the head groundskeeper is now allegedly trying to get rid of them. He instructed the sympathetic groundskeepers that the ducks are not to be fed.

Animal rights groups rescued eight of the hungry, shivering ducks from a club patio on January 13. They were emaciated and all had a foot infection called bumblefoot, which causes large warts to form on the bottom of the foot. One duck was missing part of its foot. The ducks had been left to fend for themselves in freezing weather with no food, shelter or water.

Authorities need to investigate this country club and punish the head groundskeeper and other responsible parties for animal abuse. Ducks may not be typical pets, but they have the same basic needs as all animals. Please sign the petition to convince Long Island authorities to investigate duck abuse at Rockville Country Club.

We believe that authorities need to investigate this country club and punish the head groundskeeper and other responsible parties for animal abuse. We understand that ducks may not be typical pets, but they have the same basic needs as all animals, and condening them to a slow death by starvation must not be tolerated. We respectfully urge you to investigate duck abuse at Rockville Country Club. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider our petition.
