Plastic pollution is an issue around the world and we've all heard how badly it affects the environment around us. More than 8 millions tonnes of plastic is dumped in our ocean every year. Action can be taken on this issue by reducing, reusing and recycling our waste. Now that China has banned the importation of plastic recycling from Australia some councils are resorting to sending all their recycling to landfill as it is becoming expensive to recycle, as well as some waste having nowhere to go.
Currently our school has not implemented plastic recycling bins and we hope to change that with our Community Problem Solving Team advocating for the introduction of plastic recycling bins in our school. We also want to create more awareness around this issue in order to encourage everyone to work towards ending plastic pollution, so signing our petition would be greatly appreciated.
