Brazil has moved to cut Amazon conservation units by 1.2 million hectares in the Pará state region in the eastern Amazon, according to a report in Mongabay.com.

Deforestation in Brazil has already increased by 30% in the last 12 months.

The report states: "Reclassification will allow private land ownership, agriculture, as well as logging on 1.2 million hectares of protected land."

The Amazon is the national heritage of Brazil and the lungs of the world - it must be saved! Please sign and share the petition to demand no logging of Amazon rainforest conservation units.
