Petition to End Chimpanzee Research

Petition to End Chimpanzee Research

Target:
NEAVS
Sponsored by:

An estimated 1,300 chimpanzees are currently held in U.S. labs. Chimpanzees who have been imprisoned and experimented on for biomedical research deserve to live out the remainder of their lives with dignity and peace and that is why it is so important to retire them to a permanent sanctuary. Some have been waiting for as long as 40 and 50 years. They have given so much to human's. It is time we do the compassionate thing.
Your signature and that of others will build a strong voice. Sign today and please email friends and family. Get as many people to do the same.

The petition will be delivered to NEAVS- New England Anti Vivisection Society who are calling on congress to end chimpanzee research.

Chimpanzees are humans closest living relative sharing 96% of our DNA. An estimated 1,300 chimpanzees are currently held in U.S. labs.  Austria, Great Britain, the Netherlands and others have banned or severely limited research on chimpanzees and other great apes.  It is now time for the U.S. to do the same.

We demand an end to their use in U.S. research and their immediate release into permanent sanctuary.

There are many books, reports and research to document how closely related we are to these wonderful animals. They use American Sign Language to communicate with each other (when taught) and are sociable beings, often crammed into tiny isolettes/cages where they become insane mutes, rocking back and forth, blank-eyed. Please rescue these sentient beings and create sanctuaries for them. Let's not do biomedical research on any of our animal friends. After all they cannot give their consent; are treated cruelly, like prisoners, and are even bred just for this purpose. Please please, stop these horrific crimes.
